Reports overview

A report in Kubit Product Analytics answers one question about your events. You build reports in Explorer, the report builder. This page lists the report types, the question each one answers, and the settings all reports share.

Report types

Report	Answers	Example question
Query	How many: counts, unique subjects and other measures over time	How many unique users sent a chat message each day last week?
Funnel	How many subjects finish an ordered sequence of steps, and where they drop off	What share of users who add to cart complete checkout?
Path	Which paths subjects take forward from an event, or backward to it	What do users do right after they open the pricing page?
Retention	Whether subjects come back after a starting event	What share of new users return in their second week?
Data Table	Aggregated values in a table, with up to 6 measures and 5 Group By dimensions	What are sessions, orders and revenue by country and platform this month?
Significance	Whether a difference between a control group and up to 2 variants is statistically significant	Did the new onboarding variant raise activation?

Cohorts are reusable groups of subjects, defined from events or from another report. Apply a cohort to any report as a filter or a breakdown.

Settings every report shares

Most reports share the same building blocks. Each one has its own page.

Setting	What it does
Time period	The date range and the time unit (day, week, month)
Compare	Overlays a prior period to show how a metric changed
Filters	Limits the report to events that match conditions
Group By and binning	Splits results by a dimension, or buckets values into ranges
Sampling	Runs very large reports on a sample of events or subjects

Create a report

Open Explorer in the left nav and pick a report type in the report builder. You can also ask a question on the Ask page. Kubit builds a report from the question, and Open in Explorer opens it in the builder. Join your team on Kubit walks through a first report from a question. Click Save in the report header to save a report. To put a report next to others, click + Add to Dashboard. See Dashboards.
