# Connect Snowplow

> Connect the warehouse where Snowplow already loads events, or send Snowplow events to a Kubit Snowflake account through a Snowflake destination.

Kubit reads Snowplow events in one of two ways. Kubit recommends connecting the warehouse where Snowplow already loads them. If you haven't built a warehouse yet, a Snowplow destination can load them into a Kubit Snowflake account.

## Choose a path

| Path | Use it when | Where events end up |
| - | - | - |
| **Direct connect** (recommended) | Snowplow already loads event tables into your Snowflake, BigQuery or Databricks | Your warehouse. Kubit queries the tables in place. |
| **Snowflake destination** | You haven't built a data warehouse yet | A Kubit-hosted Snowflake account |

## Direct connect

Share your Snowplow event tables with Kubit through the page for your warehouse under [Bring your own warehouse](https://learn.kubit.ai/warehouses/overview.md).

## Snowflake destination

### 1. Get Snowflake credentials from Kubit

Kubit provides the Snowflake credentials for the destination.

### 2. Add the destination

Follow the Snowflake destination guide for your Snowplow plan, with the credentials from Kubit:

| Snowplow plan | Guide |
| - | - |
| Cloud | [Configure a Snowflake destination](https://docs.snowplow.io/docs/getting-started-with-snowplow-bdp/cloud/configuring-destinations/snowflake/) |
| Enterprise or Open Source on AWS | [Snowflake destination on AWS](https://docs.snowplow.io/docs/getting-started-on-snowplow-open-source/setup-snowplow-on-aws/setup-destinations/snowflake/) |
| Enterprise or Open Source on GCP | [Snowflake destination on GCP](https://docs.snowplow.io/docs/getting-started-on-snowplow-open-source/setup-snowplow-on-gcp/setup-destinations/snowflake/) |

Pick the Spark transformer. It [deduplicates events](https://docs.snowplow.io/docs/destinations/warehouses-and-lakes/rdb/transforming-enriched-data/deduplication/) before loading them into the warehouse.

### Historical data

Snowplow doesn't store data, so it has no replay. Events stream from the moment the destination is configured. If you need older events and already store the event stream in a warehouse, use [direct connect](#direct-connect) instead of a destination.
