# Connect Segment

> Send Segment events to Kubit through a Snowflake destination that targets a Kubit Snowflake account, and keep the number of event tables manageable.

Kubit reads Segment events through a Snowflake destination that targets a Kubit Snowflake account.

## Choose a path

| Path | Use it when | Where events end up |
| - | - | - |
| **Snowflake destination** | You send events with Segment | A Kubit-hosted Snowflake account |

## Snowflake destination

### 1. Get Snowflake credentials from Kubit

Kubit provides the Snowflake credentials for the destination.

### 2. Add the destination

Follow Segment's [Connect Snowflake to Segment](https://segment.com/docs/connections/storage/catalog/snowflake/#connect-snowflake-to-segment) steps with the credentials from Kubit.

### 3. Wait for the initial sync

Segment starts by syncing the last **30 days** of data for each table. The initial sync can take up to **48 hours** after you configure the destination. On Segment's Business tier, you can also [set the sync schedule](https://segment.com/docs/connections/storage/warehouses/warehouse-syncs/#sync-frequency).

### Historical data

To bring in data older than the 30-day initial sync, use Segment's [Replay](https://segment.com/docs/guides/what-is-replay/).

## Keep the table count manageable

Segment creates one table per event type, which can add up to hundreds of event tables. Two ways to keep it manageable:

| Option | How |
| - | - |
| Share only what you analyze | Share only the tables for the events you need for analytics |
| Share the aggregate tables | Share the [`SCREENS`](https://segment.com/docs/connections/spec/screen/), [`PAGES`](https://segment.com/docs/connections/spec/page/) and [`TRACKS`](https://segment.com/docs/connections/spec/track/) tables instead of the per-event ones |

## Next steps

* [Bring your own warehouse](https://learn.kubit.ai/warehouses/overview.md): connect the warehouse that already holds your events.
* [Reports overview](https://learn.kubit.ai/product-analytics/reports/overview.md): build your first report on the events.
